Omar L. Gallaga



Omar L. Gallaga
is a technology culture writer who has written for NPR, the Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Hispanic Magazine, MSNBC, CNN and the pioneering TV recaps site Television Without Pity. He was a long-time tech writer for the Austin American-Statesman, where he helped launch the newspaper's Technopolis and 512tech.com projects, its Spanish-language newspaper ¡ahora sí!, and two podcasts, "Statesman Shots" and "I Love You So Much." He's a founding writer and performer with Austin's award-winning Latino Comedy Project sketch troupe and can be heard weekly on the "Texas Standard" radio show and daily on Texas Mutual's Tech Minute radio spots. Vicki Parsons



Vicki Parsons
is passionate about encouraging people of all ages to live healthy and be well. She holds degrees in psychology and recreation therapy, as well as certifications in Fitness, Advanced Sports Nutrition, and Fitness Business Management. Her unique background working in the field of long-term care, speaking across the US to women of all ages, and mentoring and inspiring others to live healthy through all stages of life makes her well suited for her current role as Director of Ballet Austin’s Butler Center for Dance & Fitness. Vicki helped design and develop programming at Ballet Austin for over 10,000 adults each year, and in 2015 implemented Ballet Austin’s free BeWell Healthy Living Talks, currently underwritten by Texas Mutual. She is a requested speaker at businesses, organizations and conferences on a variety of health, well-being, and fitness topics. Her talks are presented with humor and passion, and will motivate an audience to change their attitude, their mind, and their life.


Daniel Morehead, MD



Daniel Morehead, MD
is a psychiatrist in clinical practice in Austin, Texas, who also speaks regularly for mental health advocacy. He is supervising psychiatrist at the Samaritan Center for Pastoral Counselling, and former Assistant Residency Director at the Menninger Clinic, where he received the William C. Menninger Teaching Award. He is board certified in General Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry, and maintains interests in brain science, psychotherapy and spirituality. In his leisure time, he is a student of Kung Fu, and has managed to attain black belt level without seriously injuring himself.

Deeda Payton Lovett
is the general manager for the Central Austin edition of Community Impact Newspaper. With 26 editions covering 45 communities, Community Impact has been named the fastest growing news organization in Texas by Inc. 5000.

Prior to joining Community Impact, Lovett worked as a television news anchor and reporter —most recently at CBS Austin. Before moving to Central Texas, Lovett worked at the NBC/ABC affiliate in Denison, Texas, and the FOX affiliate in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She has performed nearly every job duty in the newsroom from shooting, writing and editing her own stories to producing newscasts and shooting high school football highlights.
